Grants available to support mindfulness for people of color in the US

In November 2017, ARISE partnered with the Thich Nhat Hanh Foundation for Giving Tuesday to raise funds to support healing the wounds of racial discrimination through the practice of mindfulness. The response from our Plum Village community was overwhelming, and we raised more than $21,000 in just two days.

We are excited to announce that these funds are now available to be given out as grants to support mindfulness events and scholarships for practitioners of color in the US.

If you have an initiative that will bring mindfulness to communities of color, consider applying for a grant. Retreat organizers may apply for these funds to give out as scholarships, provide travel reimbursement for Dharma teachers, etc. To learn more and download the grant application, visit

It is a privilege and a joy for ARISE and the Thich Nhat Hanh Foundation to offer these resources to our mahasangha, and to encourage creativity in bringing mindfulness to historically marginalized and underserved communities in the United States.
